Looking forward to running the M07 in anger this weekend, thanks to OSherman for the setup baseline!

plus starting with the 20t will allow you to keep relative pace with any M05/M03s that happen to come out and play

i know i saw this mentioned somewhere before.

i see you're running the long/tall shock bottoms - is that because of running the m-chassis TRF shocks? i remember seeing something that if you run 'this' shock you can run the standard bottom, but if you run 'that' shock you need the longer bottoms

Correct. The shocks are the RC Aluminum Big Bore Damper - M-Chassis #42291 https://www.tamiyausa.com/product/it...oduct-id=42291

Built without the internal o ring & with the longer shock bottom due to the -4mm length vs. the standard damper. The Hope is to find the optimum shock length & keep the piston centered.

How much travel have you got? I believe OSherman said that you lose a lot with the short shocks plus long end.

The dampers have 8.7mm of travel off the chassis, you also gain 1.9mm of travel by eliminating the internal spacer.

Mounted - 5.1mm Front, 4.2mm Rear at 4.6/5.0 ride height. (travel limited with droop screws, that may change as I have no idea how much droop I'll end up running until I test this weekend).

Sorry, I meant how much compression travel. Apparently they bottom out sooner.

It should be interesting to test, I have a set of TC Dampers built to try also for comparison.

My chassis hits bottom first, before shocks bottom out.

The setup shown on madjacks car can achieve the same.

I'm on step 3 or 4 of my build now. The foam is hokey. As is the aluminum glass tape. What's the purpose of this tape? I didn't see any included with the kit.

Did you guys use the molybdenum grease on the plastic gears? Seems a little thick for my liking. I typically use Tamiya ceramic grease or white lithium on plastic gears.

I didn't even bother with the foam or tape..
I did put a little molybdenum on the gears.
The diff is a lot easier to take out periodically too clean
