Don't see why it would matter, you still have the same sealing o-ring on the inside. They don't leak now, can't imagine a bearing there will change that. As for the bearings failing, it's just another maintenance item. You should be in your diffs fairly often anyways. Diff bearings usually don't fail as often as say hub or clutch bearings. They're not subjected to the same abuse.
Based on what I read in the article it appears that bearing supported outdrives, are trying to achieve longer diff life between rebuilds. Less metal to metal contact will result in less friction, which means less heat, which means diffs being cooler and not cooking your diff fluid as quick.
That’s my best guess. Maybe it will be fairly innovative and might be the new standard for Diffs, we haven’t always had bearings in every part of our cars but the more places they have added them. The better they seem to work for us

By the way, did anyone notice, the engine mounts some 12 to 16 mm more to the rear against the .4 ?

The bearing for the outdrives are small bearing and are more likely to fail.
But we’ll see. I’m looking forward to seeing one the track.

For the center diff - the inner bearings are 6x5x13's and the outers are 15x21x4's, both extremely durable bearings. We haven't had a single failure in either one of those in a year of testing. I've broken the outer one once because I forgot to slide it off before removing the screws to remove the spur gear but that's my fault.

The new pictures Tekno put on their website today look great ! I’m really liking the idea of easy access front and rear diffs, changing them on previous versions was kinda a pain but this looks remarkable ! Even the center diff setup looks great. I like the design of having the brake pads and cams come off with the linkages attached so you don’t loose any settings when serving the diffs. Tekno really knocked this one out of the park, has anyone got their kit yet ?

Hopefully soon, they said shipping by next week with them. Also liked how they did the preview and preorder at the same time. So many times you see companies show a new rc and then say will ship a month from now or team drivers will get there’s first then release to public. Really like how they opened it up to everyone.
