I'm not familiar with the need for caps on "modern" spektrum dsm2 gear. I've been running a spektrum 3520 receiver, s6040/s6070 servo, Tekin rs/rs pro and one or two Seis fans without issue in TC.

These here work very well and doesnt sound like there is an afterburner inside your car.... they can be found on Ebay for 8 bucks or less most times as well.

Thanks for the reply.
I'm using the CC plastic heat sink/fan now, it did lower my motor temp about 15*.
I have a 45x10mm fan I'll put next to my motor and see if it runs any cooler.

I'm using one of these on my TC, sounds like a damned Tornado too, it is loud. Shocks me how much air it can push. I've considered taping one to the back like so;

I'm a HUGE fan of the Yeah Racing tornado fans, I may have gone through 2 or so, but they sound like a tornado and work brilliantly.

I have like 5 of them in case something goes wrong

Any idea what kind of CFM this SEIS fan produces at ~6V?

Plenty of reference photos all over this board, especially in the wiring thread. You'll be MUCH happier with the overall results and not have to take the weight penalty. Most of the heatsinks out there will do little or nothing for you at all other than simply hold the fan and get in the way of proper airflow. I've got a box of the little things from all over, of all types, and nothing ever worked anywhere near as good as a naked fan blowing on a naked motor.

Since the 25mm Boss/Geisha/Fantom fan supply dried up, that's been the de facto replacement 30mm fan. The Muchmore fan(even the super duper one) is muchmore fragile and moves muchless air! Been there, done that, would be happy to give you the POS muchmore if you'll pay shipping.

THIS is the current replacement for the Boss/Geisha/Fantom fan...and it's pretty amazing. Same form factor(25mm), but moves more air on less voltage. The only down side is that it has to be powered through the RX on the BEC supplied voltage. That may or may not prove to be an issue. Probably more of an issue with guys running the Savox/Spektrum gear that requires an external cap to prevent brown outs (not all do), as the cap will use the 4th slot in the RX and compete with the fan(steering servo, ESC, transponder, and open).

Hi Dave - the Seis Fans do over 4 cfm at 6v. they keep things plenty cool.. and the fan is sturdy so it lasts not just weeks, but months and years if not involved in major (carbon destroying) wrecks.

Thanks for that. I did pick up one of those yeah racing and I can tell you they move a TON of air. I did a basic test w/ my scale and my original fan moved about 1/4 the amount of air as this thing.

I unscientifically tested this fan (at 8.4v) and the seis fan (at 6v) and the seis fan seemed to move more air.

I am using a Novak Cap to keep the Savox from browning out my spektrum receiver. I am also going to run head and tail lights. So I would rather not run the fans from the receiver. I am thinking about running a separate BEC to power the lights, fans and transponder. Otherwise its all from the reciever. I can pigtail stuff together but I would rather not burden the receiver with it all.
