60 degrees of timing is keeping it conservative. I have run 50-55 boost + 15-20 turbo + 10 degrees on the endbell on Speed Passion V3 17.5T motors (and even a high gearing at around 5.0).

It can be done - but you really need a light throttle finger. The first time I tried it, my motor died. But that was also a RPM motor - it didn't like high gearings. But my next one (also SP V3 17.5T) could handle it.

One time I tried max motor timing on an SS (34-40ish), 35 boost, and about 8-12 turbo depending on the layout (can't remember FDR). Let's just say it was the fastest damn Novak in the US for the 10 or so runs I got out of it

To the motor's credit, it never came off at over 150*F.

Will one cap 16V 680uF work as good as 2x 16V 330uF?
Any point to use one 1000uF?

yesterday i was trying a speedpassion 6.5 with the rs pro

45 boost ( 5 k @ 31 k )
15 turbo ramp 1 delay 0.2
No current limit and TP 3 ( first try i was on the tp1 and 70 % current limit

Ratio 7.6

motor timing 0 °

result :

A serious lake of power, without the turbo i was sleeping behing my radio...
The top speed wasn't too bad, but nearly the same as a friend who drive a 10.5 PRT ( french stuff ) wirh the rs pro too

How a 6.5 can be so powerless ?

i always run with a x12 10.5, and it have more power on corners exit and a good topspeed

Boost 40 ( 5k @ 20.8 k )
Boost 10-15 ramp 1 delay 0.2( depend with the temperature )
no current limit TP 2
timing motor -10 4 dot
Ratio 6.6

Bump your motor timing to maximum (+10) and up your boost to around 45-50. Bring your start RPM range higher, around 10k should be good to start with.

+10 on motor can help for corner exit yes, but 10 k starting boost i m not sure. By the way, 31 k end rpm is near to the limit, so i can't be wider

Sometimes i loose the turbo with the epa at 100 %, and i m surprise to see how the speed is low when you don't have turbo.

Maybe the motor need a lower FDR and less timing on the ESC.

Your gear ratio must be someting as 7.25
Your boost set to 50 (zero timing on the motor)
turbo set to 6
RPM start 5000 en RPM 18000 or 19000
PT on 2
If the car is not flying than there is something wrong.
I use it and the speed wash on top higher than with 4.5

Thanks

Try those setting.

You have too much timing comming in to soon. Your settings are for roughly 10.5t or higher turn motors.

Speedpassion gt2.0? Expensive sticker if you ask me. Buy from the factory who makes them is much more cost effective.

Default Novak Ballistic 10.5T & RS Pro

Hello all

I've bought a Novak Ballistic 10.5 motor and it comes with 30° timing on the end bell. I would like to ask is it allowed to use 50 boost 10 turbo with it?
I read the Novak 30 degree is about 15 degree compared to other motors like Speed Passion. Novak recommend not to set the timing on the end bell below 5 so should I set it to 5 or 10 then use the 50/10 boost?
Can you give me a gearing advice for a 120x60 feet track with laps about 12sec? I think I will use Hara's 11.5 setup.
I'm racing with 4WD 2cell Touring car.

Thanks
Zsolt

Ok well it has been awhile since I have ran my TC in the 17.5 boost class so I haven't posted here in awhile. I finally got to run it this past weekend with a new radio (New Spektrum Pro) and I am still having a bit of what seems to be a turbo fade issue...basically about half way through the race my car seems noticeably slower on the straight than other cars running the RS. Initially I start out the same speed as everyone else but just seem to have more drop off than everyone else. My motor temps in the low 150s and so far I have changed out the RS, the radio, and the motor. So I'm wondering if my battery could be falling off that much or if I should look at something else. Also I am not running fan on the motor and most if not all of the RS's I am racing against are running a fan. I don't remember my settings off hand but have tried many different things and typically run the same settings as others at my track. Any other suggestions of things for me to look at?
