MOTIV M-Code motors, now MC2 for 2017, come pre-set to perform well in most applications. Each MOTIV M-Code motor comes with a specification check list specific to that individual motor. Following are some suggested starting points for the MC2 line of motors for each class (we will update/add to this as often as possible). One key piece to pay attention to when adjusting your motor is Amp Draw. Try to keep spec motors around 3.0.

Every MOTIV Motor is hand checked, assembled and packaged by a professional in house at our WI, USA office. During this process every motor component must meet MOTIV requirements before assembly and packaging. You can buy them separate if you already have the motor. If you want to order a motor with the high rotor already installed you'll need to email them and specify that.

Are there future plans to release a battery in the 6000-6300mah range? Seems like a large gap between mah and weight. It is one of the reasons I decided to go with another brand battery.

Hi Tandum,

The 5.5 should come standard with the "M-Mid" rotor. If you want the High rotor, you'll need to send an email after you place the order & they will build one per your request.

Just got a m code17.5t to replace my 24k and it so down on power on the motor checker
24k at 6 amps is about 3200kv at 25000rmp
M Code at 7.1 amp only make 2900 at 22500rpm

For the price £85 let's say I am disappointed my £60 team wave that's had a hard life gets into 3-3100 Kv at 6 amps 22000rpm so m code is over price for the performance

You cannot compare it like that and say it is a bad motor based on that. I'm willing to bet the Motiv has boat loads more torque.

24 k has the most torque I have felt plus rpm
So to get the speed I need to match 24 k at 3.7-3.5 fdr would be 2.8 or lower

Guess if that is all torque it only good for indoors town hall ,big tracks it's going to be creamed down the straight

That's why we change gear ratios to match the motor to the car and track.

What are your track dimensions? I doubt you will need to change gearing that much, you will probably be fine around the 3.5 range you currently run. Please run the motor, play with the gearing a little bit and if you are displeased with the performance, please send me a pm.

That's a little harsh... You also need to consider that stronger magnets will decrease the rpms a bit, while the 24k rpm under load will be very different from the bench test...Please try 3.2fdr to 3.35fdr with low timing(35 degrees) if your track is very large....

You cannot just set any motor at 6 amps and expect the most out of it

Some motors yield great results at 4-5 amps with less rpm
Excessive amp and rpm only leads to a fade in power ... From my testing along with guys I'm running with
Each motor has a sweet spot of rpm . Kv and amp draw when combined with gearing to the track can lead to a motor that pulls off the corner and has excellent straitaway speed

I've ran motiv 17.5 with fantastic results in short course . Buggy. Tc. And 1/12

I would have to drop the gearing to 2.85 I worked out to get same speed with the Rpm I am getting at 6 amps so if I go 4-5 amps gods knows how low I need to go and I tune around 6amps that's as we find at our track nearly every motor stays about 40-50drg c, more amps just makes heat less amps u see ppl fly past u on the straights think this motor would be suited to off road

Not familiar with the 24K motor but if its similar to the D4, the comparison on the track between the 2 motors we have found that, although the test numbers don't dictate it, but the D4 was more of a torque motor and the Motiv has a much smoother driveable power delivery. Don't get fooled by FDR comparisons, but determine what the track is actually looking for for a FDR and tune your current draw to that. At a 2.85 you'll run out of track before the motor gets up there, but how does it perform in the infield? Where do you spend the most time on the track, the infield or the straight? Thats what your really tuning for.
