i would get the vspec out of the 2 that you have listed, i have both, the picco i have is a idm modified p7r evo2 its got really good power, but the carb is garbage it sticks, other brands carbs dont fit in it either, the vspec makes good useable power and gets good fuel economy and they have one of the best carbs in the industry

Whats the difference between the Picco Evo 2 and Evo 3?

I run modified versions of both engines... They both get equal runtimes of around 12 minutes... The OS is much smoother, the Picco is much more powerful.. I run the OS in a Buggy and the Picco in a Truggy.... IMO the Picco can be a handfull in a Buggy but works awesome in a Trugy, i find the OS too soft down low for my taste in Truggy but it work awesome in buggy.... Picco uses harder crank and piston material, the Picco piston and crankpin will definitely last longer..... OS has a better carb, but the Picco carb can work awesome with a little TLC.......

I had an Evo2.......that thing was a PITA royally! It would NEVER hold a tune.....Now I use Novarossi and will never look back, the quality is unsurpassed. I was way unhappy with Picco evo2 .21 to say the least
I have never ran a Vspec but it seems to be popular at midwest tracks. I have always heard they run great(not the most linear power delivery in the world) and they tune well, but longevity is not that great.

there is definitely a few tricks to sealing a Picco carb... if you dont know these tricks and you get a leaky carb the engine will not tune...fortunately the fixxes are very simple and very effective..

i've never ran the Picco, but i can tell you this i've had great success with the speed and the stock V-Spec. I replaced the crank bearings with ceramics and the rod on the stocker at 3gals and have 9 to 10 gals on my current mill still runs great!!As far as tuning goes the V-Spec loves a richer bottom and lean top!!! Very smooth power with a 2050 or 2060 pipe.10 to 12mins on a tank.

try the o.s.,i have had both motor,i think that the o.s. have better runtime compared with the evo 2 without sacrifice power
