Angry HBX (Tamiya TL01 Replica) + Smoke = Not so good

Okay..

I was drifting away in the HBX.. it has an 11 turn Team Orion with a GM V12 XC ESC.. All of a sudden it stopped and there was smoke pouring out of it!

It was the wires from the motor.. what kind of wire should I be using..?

Please help!

HBX? The smoke was probably coming from the motor, has it ever been cut or had its brushes replaced? Or it the gearing was way off and you burned it up.

Yeah.. The brushes have been pulled out but not replaced.. Should I replace them or is that the motor gone..?

I mean.. The car still works fine and everything! The wires were REALLY hot.. Heatsink burnt me..

HBX is like a replica of the Tamiya TL01.. just a cheaper version!

I'd use some good quality silcone wire...in the 12-14 guage range...

Also, you might be overgeared and you've killed the motor...the "real" TL01 has a very limited gearing range, so I'm sure this car is the same way...The 11T is probably just being run to hot because of the gearing - try a different, lower wind, motor...

I'd take the thing apart and check to make sure none on the wires on the armature are black - if they are black, you killed it

sorry

The wires have melted but the motor is fine..

When I tried it this morning.. Smoke started coming out of the motor..?

How do I change the gearing so that it will suit the 11 turn..?

you probably cant, TT01's and HBX things are designed to runn siver can 540s and NOTHING lower (these are 27 motors btw, tho the stock one that would have come wit the car is a 22t but its very slow)
