Hardly ever run the one in the steering bridge, never tried taking the one in the motor mount out, does it make much difference to the handling?

Without!!! I think that I haven't used it yet. With high temps I use the motor mount screw, now in winter i remover it.

Have you tried the shocks on asphalt? Do you think they'll work just fine?

The combination will take away a bit of high speed corner but you'll get more stable at the rear for a change

I don't see why it wouldn't work on a not so bumpy asphalt track and technical. I have yet to try it because the asphalt tracks I race at are parking lots and bumpy. Take notice, the short shocks do come with spring holders that let the springs sit closer to the track surface. I also believe running a lot of droop is a factor with short shocks, the window is smaller compared to standard, thus the reason behind running the Slf shorts on a smoother surface with less droop.
