While everyone else is building and playing with there Xi's I've just been able to start building my XL, that has been sitting on the shelf since last march. Does any one remember what shock oil, front spring and tube lube come with the kit. Kit came with red shock spring and white side springs. That's what I currently have on my GenX. The top of the lube bottle is red. I have red, blue and white lubes can anyone tell me what weight they are, also is there a baseline set up for the XL. I hope to race it sunday, my Xi upgrade kit and R8 bofy are on the way. I will be racing 1S 10.5 With Tekin RS pro. Thanks for any help!!!!

Start with this setup.

Red cap is 1k
White cap is 3.5k
Blue is 10k.

Car comes with 30 wt oil. That is what we all use. The front springs are .50. Start with them. If you need more steering, you can go to .45. The red spring in the kit is the same as the gold spring on the setup sheet.

Smile Northstar Classic

I have been getting reports of an old Carpet Knife beating the new xi shortys up in Dakota last weekend. Are those reports accurate?

The short batteries are so cute I almost don't want to put them in the cars. :-)

I have a Gen XL which will be converted to Gen Xi some time next week. I wanted some feedback on the the rear pod. My car does not have the standard pod setup which would be:

low pro. motor plate, plastic micro left pod plate and standar upper pod plate

It appears that everyone is running this setup in 17.5 blinky. I see there is an option for a 4 mm upper pod plate and also a full box rear. Which is better?

I am not sure what a "standard" rear pod is.

If you have a GEN XL, then you already have the brushless specific rear pod, which works fine. We made the boxed in rear pod for those people that thought they had to have it. We made the 4mm top plate for those people that had problems breaking the regular thickness top plate. Neither of these are mandatory. If you took a look at what the team guys are doing, you will see a mixture of stock pod, boxed in pod, stock pod with aluminum leftside pod plate, and a couple with the 4mm top plate. They all work. I personally use the box stock rear pod with the plastic leftside pod plate on my 17.5 car, the stock pod with aluminum leftside on my 13.5 car and a boxed in pod on my WGT.

I hope I did not confuse you.
