The only thing you need IMO is the TeknoRC mud guards and some velcro for the stock body.

If you buy a new kit you won't need anything for it to be durable. As Vic posted you can add mud guards if you wish. Myself and others use these mud guards

The buggy is rock solid. Unless you just absolutely torture it, you shouldn't have any issues w durability.

A call to NitroHouse a couple days ago informed me that a new, aluminum, lightweight chassis is available now for $74.99. It's about 10-15% lighter and has improved flex characteristics.

Interesting. Do you know how many grams lighter than the stock one it is?

its perhaps a bit OT but i wonder if the 9e lighter chassis mentioned above is compatible with 7 series kits.. brushless converted of course its definitely an area to improve on.. cant believe how heavy they are compared to 1:10

It's available by phone call. It's not listed on the site.

Excuse the old body, but the Losi 8E body does make a nice 9E body using the Tekno mud guards.

I had to chop the back of the body and use velcro to hold it on to the mudguards. Other than that, there was just some minor timing around the steering bellcranks. I removed the front and rear body mounts. A lower profile front mount could be made to work if one feels the need for it.

I am considering buying a Hyper 9e. I now there have been allot of updates to the car since it was released. What would I look for to make sure a kit has all of the latest parts? Also, is there a list of must have upgrades that should just be purchased with the kit. I assume the new center CVD is one of them, but what else?

jhautz, if you read about 10 posts up youll see a similar question, there are no "must have" upgrades for the nine, as mentioned the TeknoRC mudguards is optional.

As for the latest revision, I bought my kit from Amain couple of months ago and got the latest one based on the black drive shafts.
