Good News!!!!......Maybe???
Seein as how I have seen alot of discussion about offroad tracks in and around Knoxville, I have found out some good news today. I live in the Wildwood area of Maryville in which some family members own a ton of farm land. They have givin me permission and free rane to build any kinda dirt track possible. I'm just throwin this out there and don't wanna step on anyones toes as far as new tracks being built I.E. a new track behind or close by Performance Hobbies or tha new one in Maynardville.....Kinda puttin this this out there as a feeler. Would love to hear some input on this as it wont hurt my feelins one bit either way. I was in landscaping for years, so I'm kinda handy movin dirt around, just not quit sure how to go about buildin a dirt track.......Anyways, this is just a thought and ain't gonna happen unless I can get some major feedback.......Thanks

Building a track is doable, however operating the track as a business is the difficult part we often overlook as racers. As others on this forum have pointed out, the local racers have experienced some really great off-road tracks (Dalton, Dixon's, Battlefield, etc.) all of which are part of a business. These tracks have set the high expectations of what a track should offer. To meet these expectations you have to turn from racer to businessman as building a track to meet these expectations will require a serious investment of your time and money.
The good news is if you build it I'll gladly pay you my entrance fees to race and practice on it.

Hey guys.....I am in serious worksin getting this track started. I am having a hard time findi.g track dimensions for a good starting point however. Would like to know what the dimensions were at KSLR,, daltons, etc. Any help with this would be GREATLY appreciated........thanks

Track dimensions for Karns were mentioned in that thread at some point. It was really a little on the small side. I would suggest a minimum of 2x that size. It was roughly wot for 3 sec x wot for .8 sec
