Default Saturday Night at Logan

14 trucks tonight at Logan. A separate kids class included. A brand new truck was on debut tonight when Cassie Vaughan dropped her vibrant pink truck on the track. Did really well to qualify 2nd in her heats, showing that consistency beats speed and bravado. Another nice paint job by Trigger Finger.
In the Amain Shane Booth, TQ'd but I think Shane Hyde took the win overall. Heavy cleaned his motor and had a competitive Truck tonite. He had too much fun again and was seen with a tear in the eye after canning his son on a back corner in an overtaking manoeuvre. A laugh a minute as usual.

Cheers Brendan

We finished on the same points in the end. Cheyne won on count back to the heats.
The Finals where great. I just could not catch him in the first final , but managed to get past in the second then Cheyne had a coming together with a back marker which gave me the break to stay 5-6 seconds in front.

A new question regarding the trucks.
HoBoa are about to drop a truck kit on the market which is pretty much close to a touring car under a Bitty shell. Does the conversation start soon to get a control on this not the same limits as the Tamiya but as something the Tamiya can be optioned up to, to be competitive.Possibly another class, same fdr etc maybe similar to mini with a common motor esc set.
These will eventually start to show up on tracks so should the retailers know what the clubs expect ???

Question for any of the PDNR guys running these.

Are you going to be running to the Tamiya rules? Bearings and prop shaft upgrade only?

Hi guys, One minor thing you might consider which will make the truck more reliable is changing the brand of Pinion gear. The std tamiya one tends to wear pretty quickly and after racing them for 2 years up here in QLD we found a 19 tooth Yeah Racing or Kawada gear will stop tearing the spur gear up. Just a thought. and I look forward to having a race with you on my way back to Qld from Tassie in a months time. I have a 2 year old truck still running the original gears I put in.

If anyone is chasing used Tamiya trucks I believe there are a few floating about over this end of the world, the class pretty much died thanks to some toxic attitudes about a year or so ago and as far as I am aware noone has raced them since.

We used to allow kit grease or anti wear grease but no, not putty.

Meant to be a simple fun class
