Default Worlds Fastest RC Car Competition 2008

Hi

There will be at least 2 competitions for the fastest RC car this year, one being organised by Radio Control Action at the California Speedway in Fontana, USA and the other at the Shakespeare Country Raceway near Stratford Upon Avon in the UK organised by me and sponsored by Schumacher Cars.

We are hoping there will be a 3rd event somewhere on the east coast of the USA possibly Miami.

Last year saw Nic Case win the overall fastest car with 127.2 mph with his electric drag car and I managed the fastest IC car with 88 mph. We are hoping to break the 150 mph this year.

If anybody is interested you can drop in at out forums at

http://forums.radiocontrolzone.com/f...play.php?f=342

Or

Cheers

A car at 150mph is traveling 1 mile in 24 seconds....My question is how are you going to clock a car at that speed. A drag car hits there speed in about 1.4 seconds.....A touring car will take about 10 seconds to make top speed around 70mph, and an 1/8th scale will top out in about 6 seconds.......But the radio controled tethered car hits 200mph in about 40 seconds to reach that speed........Why the Tether? at 150mph a car that weighs only 1 lb with a frontal impact contact patch would have an impact weight of near 822.75lbs! (depending on the impact patch, using about 4 squar inches)...

....radar???......uh.............tether cars are not radio controlled...............basically a chassis with an engine that runs WFO till it runs out of fuel....... 1 : something (as a rope or chain) by which an animal is fastened so that it can range only within a set radius

I was able to go to a teather car event and the one I went to, they had controls on the car for the throttle in the event of something does go wrong.

When running a speed event, you cannot go by radar at that speed, as the vibration from the body would not give a true reading. I would think that you would have to run a set of trip lights.
