ORRCA QLD Updates
Hi all,
Following the meeting that was just held over the weekend, the rulebook has been changed and ammended. Please check out the ORRCA QLD website for full details (rulebook). All changes are effective immediately.
Changes in brief:

it doesnt bother me but modified is 5 cell only?
just thought its modified anything goes???.
other wise good to see orrca adapting to technology

Should it not read excluding timing epuip (1520grams with) ????

We will address that next year. As we do not want to see the issue of 6/5 cell or lipo again.....having too many choices. It also brings us into line with other sanctioning bodies in Australia for those that travel interstate to race at the QLD titles.

The new weight limit is 1500 grams for 6 cells or lipo based classes in on road. So at all times the car must be 1500grams including transponder - whether it be a personal or club).

So the Premium Power lipos from Harris can not be used?

Hi Matt,
At this stage any soft cased lipo battery (including all Premium Power Lipos) is not allowed at ORRCA QLD title events. They are still allowed for club racing and the interclub events.
Also, please keep checking the approved lipo battery and brushless stock motor list. We will keep updating them.

Congrats Doug to you and the club. It should be a fantastic event. Really looking forward to it.
Just need to sell my premium power lipos now
Great thread as well ORRCA, this will end any disputes on what can and cant be used.
Just a quick one on brushless, does it now mean that we can purchase a 17.5to run at the interclub's or only for the 2008 QLD titles and beyond?

2.8.5.1 Must have Lipo sack or other device to contain a destructive failure
Please specify “other device to contain a destructive failure” or is a crock pot suffice???
Also with all the li-po rules and regulations. Why hasn’t there been any instructions in regard to low voltage cut -off units being mandatory if this device isn’t already incorporated in the Esc being used. I am sure all the guru's whom have made all these rules and regulations have over looked this. A li-po is most vulnerable to failure or destructions if it is subjected to full load near to the end of its capacity?? It would also protect the pack from failure.
I cannot comprehend why this hasn’t been mandatory or has it the people lost the plot when they make these stupid rules Perhaps more knowledge could be sort and an understanding of the products undertaken before rules are enforced..
P.S What’s the difference between running a soft case li-po at club levels and then having to run a hard cased li-po at the state titles.
Why would I be penalized running a soft cell lipo in a steel frame.
