Default Li Po Race packs ( Getting the most in out put for stock Racing??

Hi.

Just curious.. Is there a way to get better voltage for stock spec motors.

Are new packs faster for the first 10 runs or so????

Are Li Po's better on the second charge of the Day.

Charge them just before the race.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Cheers.

I charge mine at the track on race day, same performance charge after charge. Some say they get better after the first couple charges when new but I've never seen it. Other than a lipo warmer, not recoommended or legal at most tracks, there aren't really any "tricks" that I know of or see guys doing with their packs..The actual gain you will get from warming a lipo above ambient temp isn't going to be very much IMO for most people.

Charge them at a 2c rate, but again your getting very small gains
compared to the old round cell days.

I guess that's one of the equalizer's of Lipo racing

The only 'trick' I've seen is warming/heating the lipos as racer1812 mentioned. It is documented that lipo performs better when heated to 110-115F to start with.

One nice thing about lipo is that their performance is pretty much the same for everyone as long as they basic lipo care is there. There may be some gain by using high C rated lipos so discharge voltage is slightly higher than lower Crated lipos.

Def not like what you could do with NiMh packs.

There is a 'vault' full of lipo discharge graphs on RC Groups and they don't indicate any performance improvement from higher C rate charging and they charge at up to 8C, so if it were to exist, they would have seen it.
