Hey Punkynutt, alles is sweet my broe..., no, I am also fery happy with towerhobbies, I sold a laptop and the guy paid with a check, it was a bank check and the bank told me it was better than cash, when I depositted it into the account, it was fraudulent, and all the info I had on him was false... I dont race yet, but plan to start in a month or two, I dont have the car yet, and have never owned an NTC3, so nope, sorry not me... Where do you race? I know there is a track near the Colonade, but not sure where else.

Rumour has it that these are darn decent, and that they aren't as expensive. It is also nice to say you arent using the same tires as averyone else...

BaxterC

We belong to a club called Formula1 Model Racing. You're right, the track is in Zambezi drive behind the Montana Value Centre. We even have a 1/6 scale class.

What do these tires cost by the way, cheaper than Nitro Shoes?, coz all club members can get a pair of nitro shoes for R85 instead of the normal R120. Fortunately, being our most consumed item, its also one of the cheapest, actually cheaper to by locally.

Thanks, does that include international shipping. Add another $15 for Airfreight or $9 for surface.....for just one pair.....scale of economy though, so we gotta order about 8 pairs to even out the shipping cost

Punkynutt, do you own or know the person who owns the Formula1 Hobbies shop? That is not a bad price at all, How long do the tires last? rc mushroom has them at $9, which on a good day you will get R6,50 to the dollar, which is ~R58\pair and on a bad day, R7 to the dollar which is R63\pair. This isn't bad. What shore tyres you using? What car you got?

I must admit that you are right, that is a good price. There is a track at Hillfox, have you raced there?

Do what I do. Order 40 pairs for all the guys at the track.

Cost in the shops in the UK 10-15 Pounds per pair

Cost each after import and shipping 5.81 Pounds per pair.

thanks ziggy, I'm thinking of doing the bulk-tire thing

anywayz Baxter.....the shop we buy at is in fact the owner of the track anyway. The shop is in Menlyn Park Centre....try www.f1models.co.za.......tell Deon,Cheryl or Rudi that Ivor sent ya......

We typically use 40 front and 35 rear on an average day when the track temp is 20 -30 deg/cel...on a hot day I race 40 rear/front. It lasts about 13 races...or 13 runs of 5 minutes each.

I race a NTC3, the other guys have Serpents and 4-Tec Traxxas and Tamiya TG10. We all basically race with the same spec foam. Weird though is that we race electric stock and mod and also use Nitro Shoes. The better rubbers go off too quickly, but the foams seem too last longer, at least here where we race.

Hope it helps

Guys,

this is a thread about Monotuning tires.

Do you think Monotuning is interested in you discussing where to get tires other than Monotuning?

Me neither!

Please take this to a seperate thread.

Thanks.

Great tires! I tried them for the first time at Revelation last week and they seem to be very high quatlity foams. I ran the tires for about 3-4 hours testing set ups and different bodies. They were very consistent throughout the day and I did not encounter any chunking. If I had to compare them to another brand, it would be similar to Speedminds.

I will try them at the next race and comment on their durability but, my initial opinion is a positive one.

Hi Stefan... appologies... Is there anyway you can get the guys to check the mail on [email protected]. I sent an email as I would like to distribute the tires in SA but have had no response
