We raced, we laughed, we enjoyed great weather. Couldn't have asked for a better day to go racing. Thanks to everyone that came to race with us and everyone that helped with the track. Racers were getting their cars dialed-in for the FSEARA Race on October 20th. We look forward to seeing everyone at the state race.

Thanks to the FSEARA crew and the racers for a great weekend of racing. We're always happy to host an FSEARA race. We hope everyone had a good time. A big thank you to all the racers that helped dry the track through-out the weekend.
Thanks to Lilly Q for the pics.

Hi,

I am thinking about getting back into RC racing. I only plan to come to this track and maybe a couple state races.

I plan to run 1/10th scale. What touring car is most popular at this track? I would prefer to run what most people are running so I can get support as I am getting back into things. And, prior I ran nitro so don't know a lot about electric. I did a little at 386 for a couple months a few years back but that is the extent of my electric knowledge.

Thanks in advance,

Joey

TC classes that are popular are 17.5 (very competitive) not recommended for new comers. Also consider USGT and possibly VTA as TC classes for someone who is starting new. F1 is also very popular and competitive.

What is the typical FDR for your track?

Xray all of the way. Many of us are using older chassis. 2016-2018. Most of the parts are interchangeable from 2014-2019. It is no fun having to go home because you broke one part. Many of us have many many parts.... The guys are really helpful. Please post or PM me and I will advise you as to what to get. My goal for you is to purchase the right stuff on the front end, so you will not have to buy something else shortly thereafter. Being good is not a matter of throwing a ton of money at this hobby.....

I am assuming you want a ballpark figure for a FDR for 17.5TC. This is a bit of a loaded question. There are many factors such as the motor that you use, the amp draw on your motor (Timing on the motor can), the setup etc. Having said that, start with 3.8-3.9 for a 17.5TC. Borrow a temp gun and do not allow the motor to get above 160 degrees. If it is hot, go down on the pinion size one-two teeth and repeat the temp thing after about 4-5 laps...
