Thumbs up New 1/7 CEN Monster truck!

I have a been a huge CEN fan since the late 80's. Although I have much love for the Genesis platform, I have wanted to see a new monster truck from CEN for a very long time.

CEN posted the following;

I can't wait to see this hit the market. I have to admit, I don't place much faith in CEN when it comes to ideas actually getting as far as the manufacturing process, but I'm hopeful.

This truck would be in direct competition with the X-Maxx and that sounds like some fun.

I would like to see a Cen Colosus in person. I watched Sparks run his and beat it down and he only broke one part in sub freezing weather jumping it.

Competition for the XMaxx.....LoL.....No way could that Traxxas plastic fantastic pile of....... compete with a Cen. One flaw I see in that Cen design though. An 8th scale motor and ESC in a 7th scale truck. Maybe if it isn't 20+ Lbs like that pig XMaxx, it'd be OK.

interesting
would be great that all upper arms are as big and thick as the lower arms.

I would perfer smaller Wheel and thicker tires, that's my préférences.

2x3s lipo on each side, à la sagave, would lower the COG

Looks promising. I just wish it had a center diff instead of a transmission. I also like how the batteries mount on the chassis.

I've always been curious about CEN stuff. Like spookie said I've seen RCsparks run his alot and it looks tough, I might have to pick one up some day and keep an eye on this as well.

CEN is an old school company. They have been through a lot over the years, several shutdowns and a bankruptcy. Somehow they have managed to keep the Genesis platform going through the years. Not much has changed and they have successfully managed to stretch every dollar out of it.

It is sad to see a company survive on one model, but that is better than the alternative.

I hope this new truck will make it to production. This is a pretty big move for them.

IF I owned one,the batteries would go on a lower plate!
Just above the skid plate at the rear.
Just use a couple of RPM Maxx skid plates.Dump the Velcro straps, too.
The lower arms take more of a pounding than the uppers.

Cool looking truck, I remember the Colossus from back in the 90's. The 7.7 nitro one looks like a beast I'd love to own! I think they still can be had in kit form and the elctric version is available, but yea CEN is doing basically nothing these days. I'm not even 100% sure where you can buy one of their trucks. Anyways, if they come out with a nitro version, I might buy that one.

No Nitro in the future but if you or anyone is interested in a New CEN Truck, head on over HRP. They are CEN's exclusive American Distributor.
