When I heard of these going obsolete a while I ago, I bought 2 kits brand new. I built one up fairly quickly but I didn't get time to run it, so I sold it dirt cheap (excusing the pun) because I had it for sale for ages before someone would take it.

I still have the 2nd kit which I is brand New in Box and everything. I've been meaning to build it up and run it for a bit of fun, but haven't got around to it as yet. Do these cars handle offroad track jumps well?

Good thing you didnt sell the 2nd kit coz youre goona regret it. I say build it man! Youre gonna love it! Ive been racing mine for 3 years now and the only thing that broke is the small pulley the one that connects to the rear diff. I replaced it with aluminum one and install a slipper clutch for added gear protection. And you say can it handle jumps? I can proudly say that mine can take a double with ease!

I just finished painting my new Subaru 2004 rally body. Of course I painted it like Peter Solbergs ride, will post pictures soon.

time for you to all laugh at my feeble efforts with toy-grade cars...
you can see my home made mechanical speed controller, the washers i put on the shocks to harden them up a bit, and the LED headlights i installed last night because when i was driving in the dark i crashed into my foot. i'm also going to buy some rally block tyres, and a faster motor. it may not be fast, it may not be durable, it may not take jumps very well, but its fun to drive

When my brother drove into my foot he took off my toenail. heh.

That looks pretty good though.

I am curious, how much thicker are rally block tires versus regular tires? I want to use them in snow but don't know whether to just get 2.2 truck rims...

Hmmmm, could be interesting. I just started racing offroad for the first time in 4WD Modified with my Cyclone D4. I'm thinking if I put one of these together I'd probably put in a LRP X11 7.5 Brushless. Could be interesting!

i think block tyres are quite a bit thicker, but how much i don't know.i think for snow you would be better off with truck rims and snow chains.

Can you mutate it again to 200mm width so you can use a scale body? BTW nice aluminum chassis.
