original monster stock 36degree timing

That's actually the 4th version of the Trinity Monster Horsepower Jr. stock motor that was produced.
I BELIEVE it is supposed to be a 30 deg. motor (some of which were actually around 35 degrees).
That motor isn't legal for ROAR or NORRCA races anymore.

thanks...
30 degree timing? wait is 24 degree faster? the degrees get me so confused...

More degrees = Less torque, more top end..theoretically..
Today's 24 degree stockers are faster than the 30-36 degree motors of a couple years ago.

hmm... so say it needs a new motor... like the XXXT, would you suggest the P2K2 pro?
#8
Yup! The P2K2 Pro is what I use for stock truck.

is the Epic Binary 2 a touring motor? have you tried it? the 4 magnet design is supposed to be hot, according to RCCA
#10
The Binary 2 is great for TC, but it doesn't really have the torque needed to get a truck moving out of a corner.
And it's not ROAR legal.

its not? why? because of the magnets?
#12
Yes; ROAR stock motor rules call for two-magnet cans only.

oh... i had no idea.... is there any sites that have the ROAR anf IFMAR rules? I'd like to read em....
thanks

www.roarracing.com has the rulebook in a downloadable file.
All ROAR rules for IFMAR-recognized classes meet the IFMAR requirements (except for fuel, which I believe is limited to 25% at Worlds events).

Aaron...
The brush hoods will be aligned at 90 degrees from this mark, plus up to 24 degrees of timing. Only single piece (2 magnets in a can) or split magnet (4 magnets in a can) ceramic magnets are allowed.
