You could try directly at edamhobby.com. Maybe they will ship directly to the US.

At the end the 3S lipo experiment dinīt work as well as I wanted. Maybe only 35 C discharge was the problem?

Installed the optional motor mount with 4.5T 98/18 ratio (48p) and turbo with 7200 2S 75C "traditional" lipos.

A very fast car.

If you live in Europe www.rcmak.com is where i got mine.

This will be my setup for now:

3S Orion 4600 mAh 90C, MMP on smartsense (sensored startup, sensorless on top speed) with Hobbywing 5.5.
Will start with 2S to see if everything is responding well.

Hi Rokosam,

What happened? Did the speedo used the lipo cuttoff?

First run today with the EDAM. First 2S and last run 3S.

Gearratio 84/30 * 1.95 = 5.46. Hobbywing 5.5 and Mamba Max Pro in blinky mode.
Speed was not that hi on 3S. Max 87 km/h but the car reached topspeed at 1/3 of the back straight. So not quit there yet on the gearratio. Great accelaration though . . . . . .

Laptimes on 3S were ok. Fastest laptime on MACH 16.2 s.

Car was dialed on 35 shore foam, no additive. Camber -1 degree on all wheels. Slight coning on the tires.

So next run different gearratio and maybe try some timing on the speedo.

Second track test yesterday gave a lot of usefull info again:

Setup: Hobbywing 5.5 and MMM Pro 15 degrees boost between 15.000 - 35.000 revs.
Gearratio still 5.4 (84/30)

- speed difference 2s and 3S was only 10 km/h ??
- 15 degrees boost worked great on 2S. Top speed 82 km/h and motor temp 45 C after 8 laps.
- 15 degrees boost on 3S lasted 8 laps and ended in smoke (motor). Top speed only 92 km/h and motor temp 130 C. Car was insane fast on the infield but still reached top speed half way the back straight.

Laptimes went from 16.2 down to 15.7.

Overall impression on the car is good. Belts and drive shafts still look good and the car is real quiet and runs very smooth.
Hi speed corners are full throttle with the blitz 908 230 mm body shell, even on 3s. Low speed and off power corners the car misses some steering, but first goal is to get the right motor setup.

Next tracktest i will test 4S on MMM Pro with castle 1415 2400 kV motor. Will test final gearratio in range of 4.0. Overall weight on 4S is 2 kg

Tested a lot of setups last weeks and came to the following conclusions:

4S setup is too heavy
3S setup with lehner 1920/6 is too powerfull for any speedo. Destroyed a Tekin RX8 with it

So back to a 2S setup with a 4.5 turns SpeedPassion with ratio 84/24.

Temps are ok and speed is more than sufficient.

Laptimes 15.9 and faster is possible.

Weight 1600 grams

update: yesterday had some good tracktime with new batteries. The 2S setup with SP 4.5 is working great. I definitely think this is the way to go. Used a Mercedes C11 235 mm bodyshell with plenty of downforce and not as much drag as the Blitz P908.

Laptimes went down to 15.6 with highest 15.9. Car was real easy to drive.

Belts and drive train are holding up great.

Overall a great car with some hopups ;-)

cheers.

@Rokosam: did you had some track time lately with the EDAM?

Hi NDZ, my 3S lipo was only 45C (Zippy) and was not good enough for the ESpirit, I ended using 90C 2S lipos with it, 4.5T team powers and Hobbywing 2.1 120 ESC. The car is very fast but i have to check all my lipos because they tend to get fat with this electronic. I have to check if this is a problem with lipos or ESC. I used a little turbo ESC function. I recommend you not to use lipos with less than 90C with it. 7200 mah 90C Team Powers Lipo is not fat by now.

I use the car in 200 mm config with nitro touring foams. Those tires are easy to find and cheaper and the car must be a little ligther that way.

About laptimes, i donīt know but the car is really fast and has best traction than ordinary rubber touring cars with those foams.

Enjoy your car, E-Spirit is a beast.

Hi Rokosam,

I'm using new IP6800 70C lipo's. Even the new ones heat up to 40 degrees celcius. Speedo is HW120A v2.1 with a SP 4.5 with 10 degrees boost timing.

This setup is definitely a battery tester. Old lipo's heat up to 47 degrees celcius and they get fat indeed :-(

So its not a speedo or motor problem. It's just modified on a big track which is demanding on batteries.

cheers

Those IP lipos are the new ones with 5mm banana plugs? They resist E-Spirit battery tests with 4.5T + turbo?

Regards

Best regards
