In a light car, the Hobbywings would be quicker, smaller rotor would rev harder, but you pay for that in bugger all torque. Put it in something like a TC or even a 2wd truck, the Hobbywing motor would get very hot running with a 10.5 for too long. Might get away with it for a short race, but if you ran a 20 minute enduro, it'd be no contest.

I had a spare 12t hobbywing set up after buying it for my mini and it not being equal to a black can. I then put it in my spare tourer chassis for the Missus to have a thrash with and its way to fast for her. Out of curiosity i ran it with the Novices just to see how it would go and Our track has a lot of natural rise and fall. Up the hills it struggles a bit but I would only rate it a second slower a lap to my times with a hot brushed 19t or my LRP X11 10.5 and it is lacking a good set up and tyres. The motor gets bloody hot but the Esc stays cool as and ive got it geared pretty high to keep pace. Only draws about 1100 mah in a 5 minute race too but you would think it would thermal if you were just bashing. With the throttle set to 50% she got 45 minutes track time out of a 3800Mah Lipo before cut off. Im gonna gear it right down so she has less speed and give the other novices a chance next season
