Serpent Success at 2006 Speedline Grand Prix
Hey fellow 960 owners just wanted to share some racing success this past weekend at the 2006 Speedline Grand Prix in Houston, Texas. I TQ'd the 1/8th Spec class and eventually one the 45 minute main with my 960/Mega ZX21 combo. I was in first place until the 20th lap when I ran full speed into two dead cars on the straight! Ouch! I knew my car was toast with an impact like that. To my surprise, I only lost a body clip. This mishap cost me 1 minute and 40 seconds to get my car up and running again. By the time I got back out I was 2 laps down and in 5th place. I raced my A$$ off and regained the lead by lap 111. I kept the lead from there on and won the race with a 2 lap lead over the nearest competitor.
The 960 served me well and I can't wait for the Texas Biggie in May. Go Serpent!!!
Thanks,
Kirk
