Yes, it still performs well in today's standard, parts are cheap to find, real easy car to drive.

first off its not a traxxas...its a team assoisiated tc4

LOL...dont worry your prolly new so dnt worry

well first off the xxx-s is belt driven and is now older than the tc4

the one before the tc4 was the tc3

it said that the tc3 was the arch rival of the xxx-s but who knows

what i would classify as a better car is lighter wieght, perfect balance, better handling, and better amount of parts offered

All the new ones out are good and very fast! Every car has their little quirks. Anymore pick and choose one that you can get alot of support from fellow racers and parts from the local hobby shop if one is close by. I have driven the HPI Pro4, Xray FK04, TC3, XXXS and now I drive a Corally RDX. I still love to drive my XXXS becaus it is easy to drive and not alot of maintenance. Shaft drive cars never really fit my driving style (I was inconsistent, not the car).

I know why this comment was posted, cant say I blame racingkd. But for the sake of the issue the thread relates to... The xxx-s is an amazing 1st TC car choice, I had the RTR sport and it was nice. It was very consistant i won the 1st TC race I ever entered with one right out of the box. I only changed the wiring to be race-ready. It's a machette of a car, You can bulldoze through the pack if the set-up is correct. Wanna know what car is like a xxx-s but more precise and smoother?.. Check the schumacher mi2.

I've just picked up a new XXX-S G+ and so far the car looks great. I've had all kinds of sedans from Associated to RCLab and most in between and the Losi seems very capable.

I do have a question about the sur gears that I hope someone can help with. My car has an orange spur with the yellow belt but there is no indication of the number of teeth. Is there a chart that identifies Losi spur gears by color? I know they make both 48P and 64P and a chart sure would be nice.
