I run with these cars every week and they are pretty much the same. Some minor detail is different but that is it. With the uneven world we are living it takes skill to get these cars to work right. I am glad serpent has finally come up with a car which is simple and works consistently. Currently I have the K and M brand which are awesome cars and I will get a serpent eventually. Just to see how good they have improved since Vector.

I reckon that the cars are getting to or have already got to the point where it comes down to car preperation and driver skill (and that anoying thing called luck). Personally Id get the Mugen only because in my country Kyoshos are very hard to get parts for. It would be a battle between the MRX-4 and the Evolva, I wouldn't get a Serpent every race ive seen with one in it craps out like the 2004 winternats dvd Mugen wins and all the Serpents craped out.
The 1/8th are so fun to drive its just like F1 but in r/c cars (i know thats been said elsewere) well thats what i think any way of the whole 1/8th scale stuff.

are kyosho parts hard to find in the us, like from an online hobby shop, otherwise ill go with mugen.

Im in New Zealand so even harder than US to find parts Mugen is easy to get parts for so thats y I got an MTX-4 for 10th class

The BEST advice is but what others run in your area.
That way parts and set-up are not as big of an issue.

So many times you see people's race weekend cut short
because no one else runs that brand.

I personally run an Evolva, but so does everyone else
in the Toledo club. The Nats were in Serpent country.

down here in Texas,lots of guys run a mix of MUGEN.EVOLVAS,SERPENT....we run the serpent because we can get parts...even if we order from SERPENT-USA....kitty

In my opinion, pick the car in which parts are easily available or obtainable from your LHS. Like others have posted, all three are about equal in quality and performance. If you have the opportunity (and deep enough pockets) to get all three, do so, evaluate which one suits your driving style, then roll with the one you select. That is what I did for my touring car. I had a NTC3, Serpent, and Mugen car at the same time, ran all three under club and big track race conditions, and evaluated for my style of driving, and then chose the Mugen (MTX2 at first then the MTX3 when it came out) because it best suited by driving style and parts were easy to obtain from my LHS (which stocked plenty of spares and sold the kits).

I just bought a evolva 05 from rc-toro. I live in CA, and there are a few places carrying parts for evolva (like ace hobbies and rc-toro). So, it is not as bad as ppl say.

Yea, but it doesn't beat going to your LHS and getting the part you need right then instead of having to wait a day or two. Also, you don't get that good service and see the smiling faces of the owners of the LHS will mail ordering parts.
