Amain has the R3 version. I think this is the same one on eBay.

Didn't even notice R2 or R3. In the description it says R2?!?! I think they are all the same. I don't even see a mention of R3 on RDRP's website.

good stuff. yeah when I looked it was coming up as out of stock but it was probably the version I was looking at.
Went ahead and ordered it and the aluminum 0 degree inserts they sell too to get over the $25 hump lol.

I see why it said discontinued when I looked it up. I didn't type R3 in the part number. I wonder what the difference is?

That is weird. I haven't found 2 versions of it anywhere? I thought there was only an R2, standing for 210 models. Even in description it says R2. Nothing about R3. Just in model number. ???goofy??

started my rebuild on my DEX210 .
I am targeting getting the tranny to shut without having to back off the screws on the case for binding issues. Also installing some more exotek goodness.
I think the big thing for me though is deciding if I install that alloy front bulkhead I have. I have the forward weight at 15g already in, and i amthinking of the alloy bulkhead too for more weight on the nose. This will be a mod car till carpet starts up so I figure may not be a bad addition.
Thoughts?
Track surface may vary to something even as aggressive as losi step pins!

Cain,
Those are great questions. I have tried both. 20g under servo and 30g SMC shorty weight in back. Moved things around as well. With the sideways shorty mod and no extra weight in rear, plastic bulkhead and no extra weight up front, the car seems to handle the best. I think what Fred said a few post back about laydown transmissions. With higher traction we can go low with the weight and shift a little more forward. Once we go too far we loose side bite or forward bite or both. I run MM3 on indoor clay: med-high. No extra weight and is handling well. I think the extra weight up front only really benefits rear motor. Aluminum bulkhead is probably a good idea for durability. I have only broken 1 plastic one thus far. Just my 2 cents. Good luck. Let us know what you find out that works well.

sounds good. I think I'll give the car a go with the weight up front. I also have a weight to use in the rear, and the track that is dirt I'll be running the vehicle at in MM3 configuration with the Plan B chassis I'll probably go with the panther step pins which put a whole lot of weight on the rear as they are heavier tires, assuming they water.
I'll also have that exotek rear bulkhead thing for mid motor configurations as well.
Just trying to decide do I do the VR pistons or not.

That's hilarious. I was just looking at their website. Wanted to try them myself. Can't figure out what hole configuration I want to go with. I know JP and Amezcua were running 3x1.4 front and 1.6 rear. Seems backwards to me. I was thinking 2x1.6 front and 3x1.4 rear. Or drill the 2x1.6 to 2x1.7 for rear. Oh the possibilities. What were you thinking?
Fred what you think about the VRP pistons? Increases rebound!! Should be a good thing. What hole config would you think..
Thanks

I am wondering if its at all related to the weight on one end of the vehicle versus another requiring more pack?
There is a setup I am using as a base:
http://site.petitrc.com/setup/durang...rtSetup201405/
however, it is based on a rear motor configuration so will need to play with that.

This car really makes me mad. I pulled everything out of it again in order to sell it and now I just ordered the RDRP steering rack. It's almost like I just want to see how deep the rabbit hole goes.

That a baby Fred!!! Now all you need to get is the Exotek Chasis. What do you think of the VRP pistons and what combo??
I am modifying my STRC rear shock tower I just got and going to put a YZ2 wing mount on it. Think is will raise it up to where you will like it. I will post some pics hopefully next week.
Cain,
I tried Doughtry set up, worked well but I went to 2x1.7 in rear and it was better. If you go with 3x1.6 rear, 40 weight is too much. Start 35. I think 2x1.6 front and 3x1.4 rear VRP pistons might be good.
I use 2x1.6 front and 3x1.6 rear on my DEST. 35F/32.5R.

good stuff. That setup I went with 400CST on the rear and 450CST up front for PT Racing oils. Feels decent on the bench to give a go. I also apparently did a split on the orings, stock purples? and blue, 1 per shock.
I also went with the gold shock shafts all around and limited the droop on the fronts to match stock since those fronts are what hobbico sent me to replace the ones that had issues.
