Questions?? Pinion gear

Hi. New guy here. I was wondering what pinion gear to use to start with on my new Pro-2. I am running a 3600kv Castle and a Sidewinder esc with 2s LiPo. I intend to run it outdoors not necessarily on a track. TIA.

What does the manual say? Start there.

While I haven't run that exact motor/esc combo, I ran something similar in a Pro-2 I built up for my son. As I recall, with the stock spur we were running 26-28t pinions. I can't find my notes at the moment, but I'm nearly certain.

You may try posting directly in the Pro-2 thread or there is also a Facebook page where the members are pretty active and can ask there.

Unfortunately for new people, Proline offers no gearing advice in their manual. I know this from experience.

I am so new I don't have the Pro-2 yet! Coming tomorrow. But I did look at the manual pdf. I didn't see anything so I thought I would ask here. With my Slash 4x4 I used a certain gear ratio between pinion and spur. Guess I will start with that ratio or close to it.

Got this of Pro Line web site, seems you have to go to Traxxas to get an idea about gearing.

Gear Ratio (Internal): 2.72 (same as Stock Traxxas® Transmission)
