Rob, That would be cool if Roar 12th stock for "Outdoors" was 13.5, but afaik, it's still 17.5, or at track discretion?

We've been running 85mm to 90mm at TQ, and 90+ outdoors with 13.5 blinky, timing around 20+ from neutral
Haven't run a D3 or 3.5 yet, this is with "other motors"

13.5 blinky is a fairly new class for 12th, so not a lot of info on roll out there yet

Don't jump in an ocean without a live vest.

A lot of people are running the motor in 12th scale. Just ask and see what responses. A lot of people are still testing this motor too.

Not sure on the size of the spur / Pinion, but I know a few running had to mill out the motor mount to get the pinion they wanted.... A comment in the pit lane was "Well, I stopped when the shavings reached my ankles".

Yeah I heard a few people did that with the xray. All I am saying is that the motor wasnt sold to 12th scale 17.5 and 13.5 as much as touring car and from what I heard timing, rotor, gearing etc changes. I know people are testing it although I'm sure the results are more than likely going to be passed over until after the 26th cause I know that there are a few people like Blake who only has minimal testing on his 12th scale.

I have been reading this thread since it opened, several people have asked if anyone could put them in the ballpark on set up for 17.5 and 13.5. I don't recall a single answer until Dave jumped in a couple posts back. And his info was not specific to the 3.5. This is not an issue unique to Trinity/Epic, just annoying from a company that made it's rep in pan car.

My son Blake has ran the 3.5 in his 1/12 scale 2 times now. He is running a 76spur with a 63 pinoin gear. This is at Leisure hours asphault track.

Hey Lonny,

I'll be back running on the carpet in the next week or so and will get you a good ballpark for carpet with the D3.5 motors. I have not gotten to run one yet but I know the TC guys have been 2-3 teeth bigger on the pinion with the D3.5's than they were with the Revtechs. I would assume the same would hold true in 12th scale. Timing on TC has been between 18-25 degrees and depends on the motor for the blinky class in TC. Same will probably hold true in 12th scale.

They are listed on the ROAR site and have been for a while. They are toward the bottom of the page.

I would start with 4.0FDR and 15+ timing for 13.5. This motor is confusing to gear correctly. outdoor medium track and im at 3.9fdr w/ max timing

use a gear chart to find out the best gearing range. I dont know what your car is, best post in the thread of your car brand
