Ended up 5th overall had an awesome car for the mains but had bad luck in A1. A2 and 3 had to work to get around the 4th place guy and when able to finally do so was able to reel in Juan but time ran out being that it was a 4 minute format. Brumblay was not playing in a2 and 3 and was gone.

Cool deal, I just found the results a minute ago, 7th for me, which isn't to bad for not running the A3. A2 my car was a dog, later found the pinion jammed back into the spur for some serious drag. I have no idea how that happened, it was all good after A1, lesson learned.... at big races, the car comes apart and goes back together. oh and run only one class. maybe see you soon, maybe you can come up for our annual big race the " Fantasy World Summer Sizzler ", its the 2nd weekend in August I think, you can stay with me, only cost you a plane ticket. hopefully they can get a "big name racer to join us again, Keven H. was here a couple years ago, Barry Baker a couple years before that.

front belt wear
i am noticing my front belt is wearing out too quickly (teeth side). is it possible that the pinion is doing this?
i run option 2, and to move the motor closer to the center i flip the pinion so the teeth number is facing the lipo.

short wishbones are 1mm narrower than the long wishbones

If you are running a big pinion that has a long grub screw that is raised above its threaded hole then it can hit the belt and trash it.

even with the short grub, it seems to still slightly touch the pinion. anyone notice wear with the short grub?

Anyway, one diff, the first I built, had 60wt assoc shock oil, and was clearly leaking a bit. The second one I built, which I didn't even use any diff grease to seal around the case (just under the outdrives), I put 80wt Losi oil into, and it stayed bone dry all day.
In the car I put the 2nd diff into, the ball diff was pretty tight and gritty. The car was understeering, and wanted to kick the tail out under power. After I put the gear diff in, it smoothed things out considerably. It rotated a bit better into the corners, and was smoother on corner exit. But, it probably wouldn't have been as noticeable if the ball diff wasn't so bad. It did still understeer, but I didn't try much with the setup to fix that.
