Default Looking for an 1/8th on road

Hi,

I am looking at getting an 1/8th on road car. I really don't have any choices to look at other than the Serpent 960. Mainly because I don't really know any other brands or models. I saw a 960 I liked it looked good, but what do I know. I race offroad and just want an on road car. Don't know if I will race it just want one to run around with. Can you guys give me some other suggestions and is the 960 a good car?

960 is ok but Serpent is on hard times right now. Getting parts could be an issue. Mugen and Kyosho dominate the market right now.

I would suggest the Serpent 960. I have one and have yet replaced any broken part. The car handles beautifully.

Just to add to what Scott posted, here are links to the company's respective websites so you may further read about the cars. There are photos of them as well:

For Mugen MRX4-X : http://www.mugenseiki.com/menueefi.htm

For Kyosho M3 : http://www.kyosho.com/eng/products/r...roup_id=100012

Recent national results prove that Mugen, Kyosho and Serpent are all about the same by the peak lap times (with Serpent edging out just slightly over the others but Paolo is extremely talented)

Every thread posted by someone looking for a car really should just look at what they can get and support easily, either at their shop or by the next race weekend from reliable distributors. None of the cars really have a real benefit over any of the others on the track right now, look at the sedan worlds results and the 8th scale nationals and how close the peak lap times are. A lot can happen in a hour main but overall, the pro drivers are driving everything at about the same speed on the good laps.

i personally would go to your local race tracks to see what car is driven and i would go to your local hobby shops and see what they carry. i say this because it can be frustrating to spend the amount of money that we spend on these cars and cant get parts or help with your car. so before purchase see all the cars up close. see them on the track see that you can get parts in a timely manor. not mailed 3 day air to get parts.

Did not realize there were so many to choose from . I got alot of reading to do. And I will never complain about the price of a buggy again . Feel kinda stupid too. When guys ask me about buggys. I always tell guys see what there lhs supports and go to the track to see what they are running. But buy the one that makes you feel like your cheating on your wife. I guess I should take my own advice.
