The servo doesn't apply brake or it simply can't over power the engine's forward thrust?

Since the engine is nitro, it shouldn't be affecting your servo's electrical signal so if your linkage could be binding if the servo doesn't move.

If that the latter is true it may indicate a hung clutch shoe. Do you also have problems with the engine stalling at low speed?

what Rx/Radio are you using? what servos? in what spots? What is your throttle servo make/model? What is your steering servo make/model? What kind of battery pack do you have in there?

The last post makes me think its a radio issue more than mechanical??

what i meant by spots were throttle and steering, haha, i re read that and realized it didnt make sense.

Just another question, have you tried using a 6v. hump pack yet or lipo pack?? Get some more juice to the servos??

oh yea. def. The 2.4 stuff is so nice, and it makes it safer too. i dunno if you need new servos, but 4 AAs in a batt back isnt much when you driven something that is fast and has some weight to it, just not enough juice to hold the forces. Good servos make wonders, but not a MUST have item if you arent racing.

If u are racing, i would say buy the baddest steering servo you can find, good radio and set it up right.

Couple more questions to help you out.

Did you buy it new or used? If new then it might be under warranty.

Check for damage to the servo wires and antenna wire.

Are the servos plugged all the way in?

When you say the engine is running but won't apply brake, does that mean it wont move the servo arm, or does the servo arm move but no brake pressure?

You mention that when you steer then throttle does not work, am I correct?

check to make sure the RX and TX crystals are pushed all the way in.
Check to make sure the rx crystal is in the receiver and the tx crystal is in the transmitter.

Do the servos twitch when the car is just sitting there? If it does is it when the transmitter is on or off?

bought it new
yes servos plugged in whole way
checked for damage. couldnt find anything

the servo arm dosnt move at all.

yes. so when im steering the throttle stays at whatever throttle setting it was at before before i turned. for example if i am doing full throttle into a corner when i steer it will stay at full throttle until i have let go of the steering

checked the rx and tx. there in right places and pushed fully in.

yes they twitch slightly about every 10 seconds. when the transmitter is turned on
