Little bits of my pinion gear of my TA-05 is continually breaking off and getting caught in the spur gear making a sound that doesnt sound too good.
The stock gears are kind of cheap. I never used them. Most people I know have converted it to either 48pitch or 64pitch gears.

My guess would be that you got something stuck in the gears or that they are meshed too tight.

Is there anyone out there that currently has a brushless system installed in their TA05?

I'm looking to see a picture of either a mounted up Novak GTB system or LRP Sphere/Neo setup.

Mainly, I want to be sure that the GTB or Sphere would even fit in the space provided for the esc in this car. I measured another racers GTB and it seems as though it would fit, but I'd like to be sure. The Sphere seems a little large though.

So again, if anyone has mounted up one of these systems in the TA05, post a pic for me.

Thanks

The Kit and all hop ups for the car are available through the local distributor and local hobby shops, this is just a case of the lhs being sour because they don't get to rape the consumer by charging over inflated prices. In case you're wondering as a referance a stock TA05 kit retails around 294 dollars here

Wow.. 294.. in Toronto it goes for around $200 CDN..

So how would they know where you bought it? Will everyone have to bring their kit's box with their local distributor's stamp on it? Bring receipts? UV markings for each part? I hardly see how it could be enforced..

What they intend doing is this......

You take your car to your lhs or the hobby shop where you bought it and the local distributor has created a register which will have a corresponding certificate of "AUTHENTICITY" which will be confirmed at each regional TCS race and at the national final.

I got mine straight from Japan and only ended up to C$180.00 shipping and customs fees included. I think it's about C$250.00 in my area. So the difference, I used to buy the hop-ops

I guess your LHS just don't know how to do business

the novak brushless gtb fits the ta05 to a tee, with no freeplay in 1 area.

In my opinion, everyone in this hobby should support the locals, not buying online. If you don't support the locals, you will destroy the hobby in your area, people would then have no tracks to run their cars!

Usually tracks disappear from employee/owner burn-out, mis-managed tracks or too many tracks to support a small populous of racers. There is nothing wrong with buying online or searching out better deals.

Sure I try and give my LHS or track my business if they can come close to some of the best deals on products. I am not going to kiss my brains away supporting full list prices when I can get them 30% to 50% off elsewhere. For some guys money does not matter, for me I have to watch what I spend.

I did buy my latest car a month ago at my local track. My hopup parts I did buy mostly from Hong Kong or Japan with a few from my LHS. Everyone has an opinion or situation they work within. There are as well many other threads that re-hashed this same topic. This is not one of them.
