Was at the track Friday night and Chris and his wife were really busy working on the eletrical stuff. Sat and Sun I know a few guys are going to help work on building the track and getting the new clay spread around. Place is starting to take form. Chris is really working hard to make this a great place. Just needs time to make it the place we all want to have.

How did you make out over the weekend moving that clay around? I didn't have time to go take a look.

Whats up Chris, it sounds like things are really taking shape. Im gonna try to check it out next weekend. If you want any help at all let me know, Ill be available on Sunday, Saturday I have to go away. Give me a call or let me know on here. The best advice that I can give about getting the clay smooth is to first get as level as possible with a metal rake turned upside down and try to eliminate as much high spots as possible. Then roll the dirt to pre compact it . Next, preferably it should be tamped with a machine tamper to really pack it tight, the machine tamper will do wonders on it. If a machine tamper is not available, it should be hand tamped but thats a lot of ball breaking work. Make sure that the dirt is moist before tamping. Another route to try depending on the type of clay could be running a tractor over it with semi-bald tires as this works well on some indoor tracks. The more packed that you can get it the better as this will offer the most consistent traction and least amount of maintenece. I can probably help you more once I see the clay. Also I do have a hand tamper that I can bring down.

I think I got the clay pretty good right now. The offroad is almost done, hopefully tonight I can get it 90% finished. The trick is going to be smoothing everything out. I am planning on a practice weekend next weekend on the 17th and 18th. Keep an eye on the web site for details.
Thanks
Chris

Sorry I can't tell you for certain at this moment, a lot needs done before I commit to have a building full of people. Call me if you get the chance 717-728-4613
Thanks
Chris
I just updated the pics on the web page - the clay is still wet but the track is nice. It might be hard for you to tell how the offroad is layed out because I need more pipe.
