Default what motor and ESC do you recommend?

Bought a sc10 4x4 kit. Looking for good motor/ESC. I read about castle creations combo (SCT Sidewinder) Seems like great deal now $100. It only lets you go to 2s. I also like the team orion Vortex 10. Affordable and allows 2-3s Lipo. What do some of you run. Looking for something that isn't gonna break the bank and allow me to run 3-4s or higher.

You could always go the easy pay route with tower hobbies and get the 2400kv castle motor and mamba max pro esc. The esc will handle a 6s and the motor will take a 4s.

if you strap that combo in a 4wd SC10 (the 3800) you aren't going to need 3s. I don't know that 3 or 4s fits in that new 4wd sc10 anyway.

If you're buying that truck, you don't care about 3S anyway because you can't fit a 3S in there.

The 3800 CC motor is the best thing I have ever put in a 4x4 truck. Amazing. I haven't tried that sidewinder ESC but have been hearing reports of them letting out the magic blue smoke with regularity.

Buy the motor separate on ebay for $59 and get a different ESC. I really like the hobbywing Xerun 120A.

I'd recommend the Tekin SC Series setup.
