which tires fit on the Lightning. Tamiya-style or Formula Ten Wheels?
Thanks for your help.

This is the only way to go not to get frustrated with this f1.
Don't spend your money on new ones, even not the titanium coated.
At the ETS eveybody that was using kingpins broke them and at the end nobody was using them anymore.
once you used this mod you will love this car and end you heats

At the ETS didn't finished my runs, after 4 kingpins i place a suspension pin, no problems anymore
This is the only weak point off the lightning, with this mod no more problems, and much easier to change the spring and ride height. No more c-clips

Put down many laps last night with the new car. My kingpins held up great to my eager driving.
One note, I'm using the Exotek +3 rims because my other none +3 don't clear the kingpin/carbon brace up front.
Car is awesome!

Excellent news ! i did the mod too cause i bent a king pin on a hit
I have cut 1mm on the top of the uprights to put 4mm of shims under it and to free the springs. I can now put the ride tires with 5mm of ride height !

hi guys, looking into moving on from Tamiya and into a vbc, the new lightningf looks interesting, im curious why it is still priced cheaper than the flash04, is it a lower entry model or an upgrade over the flash, would like to know if anyone can tell me the differences between the two
Thanks for your input

the lightningf is a new design, much simplified from the overcomplicated Flash. For example the steering and the alum pod plate, the wierd rear axle ride height plate and the upper arm mounts.
it is not a budget version, it has every part you need stock and all carbon fiber. It takes all the best from other F1's and combines it into a quality kit.
I own all the current F1's and keep going back to running the LightningF
look at my sig if you are looking for a place to buy one and feel free to ask me any questions.

Is there any reccomended updates other than custom king pins?

Will the diff fit kimbrough spurs?

do kingpins like this:

and use these as kingpins:
Tamiya #54241
super slick setup, thats what I run.
I reccommend you run a spur like the stock one that has 16 holes, the diff works much better and has more adjustment range. Xenon makes some.
