Default HPI Savage XSS??

Hello everyone!!!!!

I just bought a used HPI Savage XSS without a roto starter and im new to the nitro rc hobby(i know hpi savage is not for beginners). what kind of roto starter do I need? i found some on ebay but not sure if they work for my hpi. help would be apprieceted!!! thanks!!!

try and find the rotostart 2 from hpi. there are other handheld starters by other companies for there cars but they dont fit.

can i use a small hand held drill with the right size screw driver bit? and is it clockwise or counter clockwise that the rotostart spin?

if you have the drill bit, yes you can use a normal drill. I did this when i had my savage.

does the battery for the remote thats on the truck needs to be fully charged in order to make the engine start??? and can u give me a step by step on how to start it cause the vids on utube are not that good. thanks A BUNCH!!!! i appreciate it!!

what remote, the roto start or the radio?

the battery for the rc not the roto starter. but now its fully charged and i tryed starting it with a drill with the right size bit and i see the thing spin but there is no crank all i here is the drill. i spinned it clockwise and nothing so i tryed counter clockwise and all i here is a gulp sound.

-the steps i did to try to make it start:

-turned on the switch thats on the truck

-turned on the switch thats on the radio control

-primed it by pressing the drill while closing the exhust with my finger

-then i put the glow stick on and then turned the drill but nothing happens

and im sure that everything is fully charged( truck, rc, glowstick etc...)
