AAC set-advantages

Hi everybody. AAC sleeve and piston set, in your opinion what is advantage and disadvanatage of making it. It has much stable thermodynamic and heat exchanging-it is huge benefits, but it is very complicated process to make chrome plating on Aluminium. What is your opinion about it to use on RC cars (on road and off road)? Anybody wants to discuss about it?

I do not have any experience on RC car on the AAC piston & Sleeve. But i do have experience of the AAC Piston & Sleeve on my Heli and plane. There this company in the States call Performance Specialist and they made AAC Piston & Sleeve. The AAC seem to have more torque when pulling my Heli or Plane vertically up and i can sustain my 3-D stunt better in the air but not before with the ring-type engine. Anyway, these engine size are like .61 and .91 engine.

We noticed too about more torq and higher range of RPM even with the same timings. One more thing we have noticed-it runs much cooler and stable. there is thing wich isn't benefit for this type-is handeling-any mistake (even drop from very low height) will ruined it right away.

I did notice the consistence of temperature with the AAC.
The torque would benefit much on Off-Road application and a plus point for on-road.
But to built AAC on .12 size engine may may face some problems?? I do not know, assuming the expansion of the AAC would not be that great compare to ABC on a small size engine.

Are you thinking of manufacturing AAC piston & sleeve for .12 engine?

Again? Well....let me know of your result or u need some real time tester, u can always count me in to test on the hot summer Tx.

Btw, how's the chassis getting on? Still waiting here.

There is always good to know expirienced people's opinion. People are running engines in different wether conditions and they have different sort of porblems, they have to fight with. All this expirence is very important to know in any case, regardless if new idea will come through or not. We don't see any dramatic problem to manufacture the AAC sets for any size engine, but due to the difficulty of the plating process, it got to be real gain of power or torq or engine life, to consider something.

Nobody wants to put some input? Hey gus, let's talk little bit about the issue! I don't belive , somebody has a bad or good expirience with that. Let's talk about it little bit please!

Default sirio outlaw 12

Yes the Sirio motor is AAC. I've got one and several of my friends do also. I'm no expert, but with only about 1 gallon thru it i'm impressed with the performance so far. It's also the coolest running nitro engine i've ever had. (Rarely have I seen one over 210, and at around 220 - 230 performance seems to degrade.)

If you guys are serious about manufacturing AAC p/s's and want to know the performance gains you can get 2 sirios one AAC and one ABC and compare the performance. Youd probably have to order the engines directly from italy because in the US you dont have an option of wether you want AAC or not on the 3 port or 5 port. I think that outside of the US you can get a .12 3port AAC sirio and a 5 port ABC sirio. So you could buy two of the same engine one AAC and one ABC, test them in the same car and compare the performance, and see if the gains in performance make it worthwile to manufacture them.

Thank you very much for your input-this info is very valuble. It shuold be running coller and better and more stable during the long race. Where do you running it-what city or state, how is wether was there? Thank you in advance.

Default AAC Sirio Outlaw .12

I'm strictly a parking lot basher, I generally let the motor cool to ambient between tanks of fuel. I live in Atlanta, GA. So far its mostly in the 80's when we've been running with high humidity.

I think it would be great if there are some Dyno tests comparison between the ABC and the AAC or some other material. With detail graph plotted against torque & RPM, etc...

That would be great comparison to see the power rating before the real stress test is done on the track or on different ambient temperature.
