You can try desoldering braid instead of battery bars (also known as desoldering wick). It's made of copper, is flat and is flexible. You should be able to find it at most electronic hobby stores.

does that hold the cells together or would i have to shrink wrap it or epoxy it to keep it together?

You would still need something to hold the cells together. Try shoe goo or similar flexible adhesive. Shrink wrap or tape helps to finish the job off - the glue tends to stay a bit tacky and picks up heaps of dust and grit. Covering the whole pack is much tidier for such a good looking car as the G4

I went the easy route and bought the ebay pack last night. I'll run my other pack this weekend but with a whole lot of zip ties to make sure it doesn't shift and hit the belt.

I wish there was some info on these parts somehwere, I have searched and come up empty handed. I would really like to find out whats new with the gearing and also the enhanements to the clutch. If anyone can shed some light that would be great.

Hi diesel001,

In my G4+, the 2nd spur gear holder & shoes are slightly smaller in diameter, so there is a little more plastic on the actual spur gear, which gives a very precise spur gear (OD is the same). Both spur & holder also have 3 holes in them to save a little weight.

Hope this helps.
