what does the denatured alcohol do for it?

Denatured alcohol dries quickly so there is less chance of damaging electronics and parts rusting. Just my opinion though.

Electrical contact cleaner works great and is plastic safe. You can usually pick it up at any electronics store like Radio Shack in the US

I'm not sure about this statement. I used some contact cleaner once on an old TNX monster truck I had, welded the plastics together.

I use a brand called Techspray, it's their Ecoline Contact Cleaner. Been using it for a while on both my Truggy and Buggy and have not had any plastics damaged at all, and I've scrubbed just about if not all the plastics with it (I spray it on a tooth brush and scrub with it, doesn't harm the toothbrush bristles either)

i know its a cheap way to do it,
denatured alcohol(quart) and simple green and wd 40 can cost up to MYR 50 in malaysia, so i dont know if its cheaper here but maybe cheaper there.

WD-40 and Simple Green are pretty cheap here in the states. Plus the Simple Green is concentrated. Diluting it with denatured alcohol really makes it go a long way.

In my opinion WD-40 works better than nitro blast and is cheaper. For the electronic parts I am using baby wipes and they work very well. Baby wipes and then a paper towel to dry.

I always have a can of non-chlorinated brake cleaner handy for NON_PLASTIC parts. I use it to blast out the head before I put a glow plug in, or any time I rip into the engine. And I use it for bearings. It is not for cleaning the whole vehicle. Like others have said, simple green followed by WD-40 followed by the air hose is the ONE of best general maintance clearners around. But a can of brake cleaner is handy to have and cheaper than nitro blast. They do make a parts cleaner that is safe for electronics.
