Default Competition orange

Hey guys i am doing a ford raptor SC body and am going for a direct match for the Real truck. The color of it is competition orange. I was thinking FasColors FasOrange would be close, and if it wasnt dark enough back it with black? What do you guys think would be a match. the pic below is the color i am going for.

if you type in ford raptor on google images there are lots of pics.

depends on the angles and light

some look like a pearl orange, some alot more red. so unless you see it in person or get a color swatch from ford then who knows.

i would personally probably start with a pearl orange and add a tiny bit of trans red or flo red n flo orange or a combo there of.

best bet is to go to a local ford dealer n see if you can get a color swatch

Go to the Ford parts counter and order the touch-up paint for that vehicle. It usually comes in a 1-2oz tube with a brush type cap. Pour it into the airbrush and thin as needed. You may need 2 tubes to paint an SC body, but it will be an exact match.

fairplay, just thought I would mention it after seeing thread upon thread of people using car paint from the local place and having it crack/chip/flake off etc really easily

Get a flex additive and add a bit to the paint.

Or, get the touch up paint, spray some on a few pieces of scrap, then mix the paint of your choice to match as close as possible, spray it next to the first scrap and see how it matches. Adjust as necessary.

Seeing as he wanted an authentic Ford paintjob, he would want the paint to fall off, just like the real cars.

OWWWWch.

Seriously, some auto paints will stay on lexan if proper prep and application is used. The bad side is that he wants it for an SC, and if you race it, well....that 's hard duty banging in that class. No paintjob last long in there.

If it's for a fun-runner or shelf queen, it should work.

Better yet, take it to the Ford dealer bodyshop and have them paint it.
They have all the supplies and colors. Maybe they would sell you 4oz of flex-agent mixed paint?

Hahahahaha

I love it

Run it for a bit, knock some paint off, then spray the now clear areas with a good rust colored paint.
