I drove the Hyper 8 for quite a while. Figured out a lot of the problems and ran the thing until it could not be ran any more.
Did they ever fix the plastic on these cars? It was horrible! The arms would stretch like elastic. There was never a good motor mount for the car either.
It was the most planted car I had ever driven though. Great steering as well.

Anyone no when 8.5 will be out?

The plastic arms would stretch? Not sure what you had happen to your arms, but I've not had any problems with mine other than normal wear...
They have a new, longer motor mount now. It comes standard on the 8.5.
Should be a great package. Unfortunately, I've already bought most of the upgrades that come with the new 8.5 kit, and then some. Compared to what I've spent on mine for roughly the same config, $409 is a steal!
I wish Hobao would have introduced this kit a year ago, but either way, this is a great package, and as I've always said about the H8, it'll as competative as any other model out there, and probably cost a heck of a lot less to boot.
Euro World Champ, baby!!!

anywhere other than nitrohouse u can buy it from? it seems nitrohouse are not giving it to thier retailers yet, so they can retain a monopoly when the buggy is first out to keep all the profits to themselves

Yeah, but NH is only charging $409 for the buggy...
Their margins can't be huge with that low of a price. Sounds like 'volume' margins to me...
Soon the market will be flooded with the 8.5s... Just have a little patience.

rabidsquril is right plus nitrohouse will always have the largest stock of any part for it. 410.00 is a smoken deal.

Here's some shots of a local racer's 8.5 @ Wolcott Hobby in CT last Sunday. He didn't have time (patience :P ) to paint the stock 8.5 body, and used an RTR body.
