Default V-Spec fuel consumption tweaking

I searched through the threads but for the life of me couldn't find any discussion on this. Apologies if this is a dupe thread topic.

I'm running a V-Spec with the red 8mm restrictor and a JP-3 pipe on my RC8 with Torco 30%. I'm very happy with the performance as it stands but am looking to get more run time per tank. In 30min mains I'm pitting 5 times (6mins). I could go with 4 pits (7.5mins) but I'm running on a *very* long track and I'm right on the edge. I want to increase the runtime buffer a bit so I can drop the number of pits without having to worry about pushing my luck.

Do I move to a 7mm restrictor and/or look at a different pipe? If pipe, what ones in particular would give the best bang for the buck in terms of extending run-time without being too far off from my existing V-Spec/JP-3 setup in terms of performance & powerband?

JP3 is a fuel hog, get the Losi RE11 or OS 2050

and a 7 will help, you'll still have plenty of power

I run an os speed which is just a high end vspec a 2060 pipe and an eb mods head button with 6.5 to 7 restrictor. I am getting 10+ min of runtime on a very large track. I would try the 7 or even 6.5 restrictor first it's cheapest. Then pu the eb mods head button in it hosts power so you are not on the throttle as much. You can get them at tonysscrews.com. Last get a 2060 pipe it's smooth and great on gas. I still have tons of power low and lots of top end when it winds up. I think you could easily get 8-8.5. It may also require a little trigger control. Good luck

i used to run a jp3, my mileage was great, i was getting 8 min a tank w/ 8 mm res.

Im using a 2035 pipe now w/ 7 mm res and i havnt done my tests for milage but at 7 30 i still have a 1/3 of a tank

I've seen a v-spec with a 6mm venturi and a JP-2 go 11 min. Keep in mind to be smooth on the throttle as well. Makes a huge difference.

i use the re-11 and love it. i had the jp-3 and i was shocked at the increse in run time when i went to the re-11, plus i lost no power.
