I suppose a 103 is close to the max.
For Spec motors a smaller spur gear is more advantageous as there is not much room to move the motor forward.

Default f104 1s 10.5 is no more

after receiving a couple of lectures from members at the local track, and lacking corner exit speed, ive decided to go back to 2s 17.5.

The most significant handling improvements were 103 c's on the rear and adding 50g to the rear diffuser. Have to start all over again now on 2s. Im going with the 2 saddle packs mounts side by side method. Will post findings after a few runs.

Redbull - having front higher than rear - ive found this works too!! wierd

aussierevo - do you have the silver f104 with rubber tyres? ps, who is that chick (avatar)?

Nat, yes it is me with the Silver F104........your car I thought on Wednesday night did looked good, the 175 will be fun I think. I'll keep plugging away with the 21.5 until I get a bit more consistent and understand how to set-up the car a bit better.

The avatar is a local Brisbane girl by the name of Lynda Hancock........nice girl.

Default 1s to 2s notes

aussierevo, had a bit of a play between mod heats at logan tonight.

the 2s 17.5, with the same setup as i had on the 1s was horrible. the car had hardly any steering and rear was a bit fishy. removed the 50g off the back of the diffuser, and about 80% of the lost steering came back and the rear was a little better. tried the shimzu on the rears again with compound and it was planted. the only concern with the shimzu is the wear, ive done maybe 10-15 mins on them and they are already showing a line on the inside edges.

shimzu rubbers on the rear 104 a's on the front seems to be best so far, ive going to have to go to the track after work during the week and have another tyre combo tryout session.

BP SHADOW
I got the decal sheet, I got the body and your pictures of the Toro Rosso is enough to get me started.
Looks like the bull needs some time to fit.

BP SHADOW- Awesome work once again!!! My favourite car on the grid, Red Bull!

What do you guys think of the new McLaren MP4-25?
Pretty wild looking if you ask me. It will be tough to replicate though with the crazy fin on the back and the gigantic wheelbase. I think McLaren are going to have a good shot at winning this year. More unveilings are coming on monday!

the new mclaren does look interesting.....and the body will sure take some getting use to. For me the Ferrari f10 looks the goods and I'll be keen to see what Red Bull come up with following the RB5 from last year....the RB6 get's launched on the 10th Feb.

I did see these bodies that might be a good base for the new McLaren.

mind you, if you add the fins to the F60 body, it would look good as well.
