Hey all I have some V1 body templates that you can use. Similar in design as the V2 body so if you need some just shoot me an email.

As for the diff spring, if you have a V1, try the B4 diff spring, it gives more diff action as it doesn't bottom out as soon. Didn't have really an issue on the V2 with the diff spring.

CAIN...GREAT TO HEAR YOU ARE NOT GETTING OUT OF THE HOBBY.....

BY THE WAY..I HAVE NOW PUT V1 DIFF'S IN MY V2. I TRYED THIS FOR THE STEEL OUTDRIVES THAT ARE ON THE V1 DIFF. SO FAR WITH MY NOVAK 5.5 AND ORION LI-PO I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS.I THAUGHT THIS MIGHT HELP ANYONE ELSE LIKE ME THAT WAS GOING THROUGH OUTDRIVES. I'LL KEEP YOU ALL POSTED ON HOW LONG IT LASTS.......

I am excited about it myself. It will be tough, but things are looking up.

I am hoping Academy or somebody aftermarket makes a set of outdrive savers for the V2. That would be a hot upgrade and save weight over all steel units.

Cain - what do you mean outdrive savers? There are included plastic rings that cover the outdrives arlready. Do you mean aluminum ones?

yes. I would like to see aluminum ones made either through MRC / Academy or Someone doing it aftermarket. That would be a nice upgrade.

Apexs: The whole idea of having an aluminum/plastic outdrive saver is so that when the outdirve itself is under load that it doesnt expand and shatter. The sleeve that slips over this assembly stops this from happening.

Hope this helps.

Has anyone broken an outdrive with the standard plastic savers on?

I personally like the added assurance feeling of having alloy savers, but honestly never had an issue.

Cain,
I ran a stupid fast 10x1 at Planet Rc and that track is VERY high grip and had no outdrive issues.

The only thing I have done for the out drive savers is to put a extremely small dab of ca on the edge of the saver and the outdrive to better hold it in place.
Be careful to not put to much ca on there or you won't be able to get the outdrive saver off when you need to.
