Hi,i have problem with xr8 sct.the esc always turn on after connecting batt plug & work normally,but i cant turn it off with switch(must pull batt to turn it off).anyone know how to solve this prob?

Xr8's are in a odd product stage, where the product works very well and reliably, i still have one of the first production ones.
maybe a up in true amperage, the xr8 plus is on par with higher advertised amp'd esc's available from other manfs but is a good chunk cheaper, especially the SCT

Hello New here, I have a XR10 2cell stock pro.

Ran last Friday at OCRC and came in Third for the race. went to the track today and everything came on but motor would not run nor would it turn off. light was red and blinked but not like when in blinky mode. fan runs, power goes to the servo. Also program box will not link.

Any ideas about what is going on..

Hey guys,

​​​​​I just want to share my experience on attempting to update the XR8 sct pro firmware. Some of u might not know this. HW just release new firmware for HW usb link. It has updated software for xr8 plus and xr8 sct pro.

At first I try the normal way evryone would do, update all the firmware and database. Then, try update the esc firmware. But that one failed. No new updates.

Email it to HWNA, seems like they dont know why i failed. Then, i email to HW china. They gave me the proper method

1. Download the hw usb link v4.0.6
2. DISCONNECT internet connection
3. Install the hw usb link
4. Run the software and update the esc

Also you should uninstall the old version before installing the new one.

the wifi express is easier, all you click is update and the app and esc does it all, everyone owns a smart phone these days.

But i did read somewhere said they said the coasting features has improved

esc switch is giving issues and we do not have a replacement and since we are not in the USA ee will not get a replacement soon and we want to race this weekend.
The switch has 4 wires 2 red 1 black and 1 white. Does anyone knows how to bypass the switch and make it direct when 2e connect the esc to the battery.

Considering switching from Reedy to the new G2 esc. The weight listed on Hobbywing's website says it's 95 grams. That's twice what the 510R is. Does anyone know if the weight listed on Hobbywing's website is with or without wires and fan?

The first version lists it with wires so I assume it's the same. Doesn't say if it's with fan though. Also, looks like the G2 is my answer for the reverse motor direction.

The R1 Digital 3 is essentially a rebranded Graupner Genius. It wouldn't surprise me if their amp rating is overinflated since the Graupner rating doesn't go that high.
