Just club racing. But. Tq and the win first time on carpet. Had to reverse my roll centers but car worked pretty well on carpet. tried the chassis stiffener for the carpet and its a bit much. really makes the cars steering very aggressive. had to remove the screw thru the upper deck to tame it down. i ended up reducing the amount of shims in the rear to .5mm under the rear toe block and increasing the shims to 1.5 mm in front. ended up taking away enough steering to really tame the car down. carpet is a totally different animal than pavement.

Last night was definitely a great start to the 2014/2015 carpet season in Seattle! Dragonracing's car in 25.5 Scale Spec (USGT and VTA mixed) was on point after a few changes and looked solid all night. Corner speed was up with the fastest Scale Spec cars I've seen to date!
My personal plans of running Modified were sidelined due to electronic problems. Carnage9270 offered up his fresh built 17.5 car with zero laps to wheel for the night. With running a track side shop I was left with zero time to take it for a test spin so Q1 off we went. Have to say it was one of the more impressive first battery runs I've ever had! Corner speed and grip were amazing. Other than kit setup I made a few quick changes to Ackerman, front toe and camber and she was stable/quick for the main.
Looking forward to getting back out learning more what this car is capable of!

Is this cars gearing 48pitch?
#247
your saying you went with .5 shim under the rear toe block, and 1.5 under the front, front of what, front toe block on the front of the car or front toe block on the rear of the car. ---anti squat-- inquiring minds wanna know.. the rear of my 15 was unpredictable stepped out one lap and not the next. thought about some anti squat but robbed the gear diff outta the 13 to get the lighter weight oil and it didn't help... but alas,,, threw the alum chassis today so probably gotta get a whole new set up..

Oh shoot. I ordered 64p gears
#249
Will 64p gears work? If so what should i run for 17.5
#250
64 pitch is fine. much quieter anyway. more fine tuning with 64p. around a 3.7 to a 4.2. 88/47 is a good start. but get some smaller pinions also. say from 41 up to 47. then you can go from 4.29 down to 3.74. all depending on track size and temp. motor temps in the 130 to 160 range are perfect. any hotter and motors start to fade on power. i like to keep mine down to 130 ish.

Im not sure if nene 85 understands all this gearing stuff yet? Maybe just safe to say get pinions for blinky starting at 45t through 55t. Then get spur gears 88t, 92t, 96t and get a gear chart to help with what to gear at. 64pitch is most common to use. Ask someone at your track who can show you!!!!

88/52 largest gear combo you can put on the arc without hitting front motor mount. But getting from 45 to 51 and an 88 spurnwill suffice.
