Hi Guys,

hehehehe, I knew this thread was going to pop up soon. I'm checking on the orange color already. I'm not certain if it is a Alex Racing Japan only thing or what, but looking at the price tag...it's a good $400 by the time we get it here I think.

No one imports it to the UK right now, but I'm working on this as we type. If things work out then it will actually be called a Triox X-Plosion and be a mirror image of the Barracuda R2, it will be red too. I hope to have more info soon.

I just found out that this car can only direct order from Alex Racing Japan. No dealers or retailers.

That car looks really awesome, but what is the weight? With all that aluminum, is has to be heavy.

You can't call the Barracuda heavy, I have oen with an alloy battery strap and alloy shaft holder. With 3000's in the car it weighs in under 1500grams ready to race, I have to add 25grams to get it legal with a little bit of a safety margin, about 5-10grams. My electronics aren't even that light. 3300's make the car over the 1500 limit without extra weights, it's around 1515grams. In those pictures there are a few things I don't have, alloy transponder mount, alloy hubs front and rear, and on the orange one alloy body posts. They wouldn't add a huge amount to the total, with lighter electronics I could probably still bring my car under the limit, then there are titanium screws to think about getting

I can't get the limited edition one, it's just for sale from the Alex Racing website, hence the Web Edition name. I'm just trying to get a good model shop hooked up with Triox so we can get the cars and spare bits without having to import. Although it may still be better getting the Barracuda R2 from Steve at Speedtech.

I'm really surprized it is that lightweight, I figured it would be a tank with all that aluminum...

Hi Guys,

Okay, I just check with Japan on the Orange "sunkist" cuda R2...this is a limited version and probably with no anodized replacement parts for it. By the time we get it into the states, the price will be roughly $470-$480. If anyone is interested, email me as soon as you can because our shipment is due to leave next Tuesday from Japan and we can try (no promise) to get it on the same shipment.
