Hello all,
Have a few questions. Just pulled out my NIB F103 15th and getting ready to build it.
Are the stock spurs the only ones that can be used, or can aftermarket ones be used as well? I noticed the diff only takes 6 diff balls; with a aftermarket spur I suppose more balls can be used, if indeed possible for this car. Also, I noticed that the stock spur is 04 pitch. I'd rather use a normal 64p so I have access to all my pinions instead of having to buy a new batch of tamiya pinions.
Next question: Tires....What does HBR stand for?
Last question: Can someone share a good starting point setup for a small/medium track carpet track? If you know what the Norcal indoor carpet track looks like then you know what I need exactly.

That will take care of the spur.
Hbr? Not sure but they work.
I run soft front/rear on carpet.Full jack the ripper sauce rear/half front.Setup.
Can't help much here. I am running the old hpi front end (if anyone has spare parts for this front end pm me please!)
Out back I run a hpi rally shock,two hole 30wt. Carbon 104 axl/diff (low) with oring t-bar and losi diff grease (thanks Greg) on the plates.

how are tamiya foam tires (103) rated a= b= c=?

They only have 2 sets of compounds for the F103...HBR and non HBR. Both have a softer rear than front.

Zen and several others have foams available in regular shore rating. Several guys I race with like the Zens. You may have to get them from Hong Kong or Japan. The Kit tires from the 3Racing F109 seem to work really well on carpet too.
Finally TM Racing from Michigan sells donuts. I have seen magenta, purple, pink and greens. Magenta on 4 corners works pretty well for carpet.

I saw some on fleabay and they were type c-these kit donuts?
I think I will go w\3racing as there I have seen them on the track and the do seem to grip well with some jack--

The pre-mounts in the 15th anniversary are HBR. I believe medium front and soft rear.
