run 0 offset and D compounds because this will be the handout tire at Reedy! if you want to see more bodies.. check out www.rcgtshowdown.com

HPI is coming out with a new "Z" body. it looked really good during the finale in camarillo when Andy H. ran it.

I really don't see what the problem is with not knowing the handout tire 6 weeks before an event. If it were a day before or day of practice...well that would be a different story. You need time to cop your supply, etc. My cars have always worked pretty much the same with tires that are functional for a particular surface. If you car pushes with any decent tire, its because you have setup issues. If I run RP30's, Sorex 36,etc it will basically handle fine when the tires get to the correct temp. They may overheat differently at different times....however....this is just part of racing. The weather could change in favor or in disfavor of the particular chosen spec tire anyways. Last year, we knew the tire and the Roseville weather was 90-100 degrees weeks before. The race came...and it was 60 degrees. I'm sure they won't pick awful tires as the spec tire. Racing will be about adapting your car and mental to the track conditions. Not showing up for the warm up because you don't know the spec tire 6 weeks away is pretty much an excuse in my book. How come there are no invite guys on here complaining? All of us need to step our game up and stop making excuses that we aren't going to do well because we don't know the tire a month and a half in advance.

Seriously, you guys need to support Billy....at least for some of his club races. This is one of the times of the year he expects some support. The least some of us can do is go up and race regardless of the spec tire situation.

Darth Vader has spoken.

I agree with Vader. To me it's a cop out or excuse not to sign up just because of tires. This is one of the premier events in RC being held every year. It's a big treat for racers & fans of rc. This should have been sold out weeks ago. I used to remember when I raced RROC it was an off-road event & this was done to celebrate Mike Reedy's B-Day. Lets not forget the big picture here...Top notch racers all over the world & local & out of town drivers gather in one place to duke it out as Mike's wish for his B-Day. Lets get the sign ups rolling & support this event!!!

Glad to hear that!!

Make sure you sign up on line. It's fast, easy and the only way to sign up for this event. You can pay if you like during reg. or pay on the day of the race.

It's funny how people take this thing seriously, come on guys they're just expensive toys, it's all about having FUNN!

Come on... you guys are complaining "what tires are we using?!"
You know you're just really finding another excuse not to enter

Can't wait to come out to SWR and see some of you guys there and all the racing action and FUN!

I'm pretty sure there is a lot more people than what is posted....

I know of a couple guys in Socal who mailed out thier entry forms pretty early and thier names aren't on that list, myself included......

I hope we can get an updated entry list....

For Some of US this is a hobby and for others its a Pay Check.

As for the Tires, ( just speculation here) The powers that be, may be having issue's Seccuring the qty of Sets needed for this Race.

None of the people who do it for a pay check have been on here complaining.

EXACTLY !

So there is no reason for any of us to complain, IMO

( personaly i think that the Host track should be the one to determine a spec tire, and that all Tires for the event should be purchaced from the Host Track / hobby Shop )

That'd be great support for SWR.
They should do that.

Doesn't SWR have those new Sorex/Jaco combo too that just came out?!
They should pick those!

I have a feeling that's exactly what is being discussed. It would make good business sense for SpeedWorld to display their all new wheel, tire and insert combination at one of the largest onroad R/C races in the country.
