My basic setup is kit front springs with about .5mm droop. Kit side springs touching, no preload.
I run the pod about .5mm slanted forward with about 2mm total up travel from there.
Ride height is 5mm front/back, 4.5mm in the center.
25.5 motor. 30% drag break. TCS tires. Xray front/rear wings.
New CRC mega-traction carpet.

Any ideas on where I could be better?
I found the new car handled really well on the new CRC carpet at the Snowbirds

Assume you have already lengthened the centre shock? In which case I'd suggest flattening the angle...say by raising the front mount.

Lower the height of the rear wing, or try a smaller one.

Also look at front camber (I ran 2 degrees negative), caster (I ran both spacers at the rear) and front king pin lengths (as long as possible).

Hope that helps,
Mark

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I will add some front droop (lengthen kingpins) and look at the center shock.

As far as the shock is concerned, I assume flattening it stiffens the action?
I forgot to mention I have been up to a purple and gold center spring. The red spring in a flatter position is better?

No problem!

Simply put flattening the shock will stiffen the action. Looking at the new chassis cars at the Snowbirds, all were running the red spring. So would see that as the way to go!

Was anyone using 574 pit front tires or was everyone primarily on TCS tires? Just curious if there are any setups out there involving the 574 fronts. If not, I will try out the new car with TCS front/rear.

574/575 has been the hot setup at our local carpet track but as long as you are not traction rolling...

Ran with CRC's Brian Wynn this last weekend at the PKC race in North Dakota. He was so very helpful and a credit to CRC!
Thanks so much

Almost done building the new FC16. Anyone have issues with the side dampers pushing the pod down on the left side?

I have disconnected the side dampers so I have isolated the issue. I'm thinking about shortening the ball connector that goes on the aluminum end of the damper cylinder...

Nvm: found out the angle was limited on the ball connector. Raised up the ball ends so the tubes are less of an extreme angle, seems to have fixed it.

I got the updated car to work fairly decent. I may switch the battery back to inline and see if I can find the same feeling I had in the WTF. This version is less dicey feeling, which is good, but I have lost some pace compared to some other fast cars.

I am running the .45mm side springs just barely touching. Would some preload or jumping to .50mm help with turn-in? I am looking for little more "aggression."

I need some CRC assistance! (dumper you also have PM)
I need a lower pod plate for the FC16 chassis.
I have not been able to find an instruction manual or part number.

CA the front tire sidewalls, lengthen the main shock as much as possible, and try a red center spring or softer.

Sorry, don't CA the tires at first, unless you have a traction roll.

First time out, car was planted but was traction rolling. I glued just the outer edge on the front, it solved that issue. I just lengthen the shock and raised the front shock mount. Gave it 1mm pod drop. Going to see the results this weekend.

Default Front wings??

Guys. Going to try the WTF1 for fun next weekend but noticed the ETS approved front wings are not a direct bolt on?? Are Tamiya specific wings the only ones that work on the front of the WTF1?
